Fabric Options & a Short Turnaround: Let’s talk custom window coverings!

Custom designed window coverings for your home often take 8-12 weeks, sometimes longer. And even though we know that the craftsmanship that goes into custom work, is well worth the wait, we want to offer you more. Chrysalis Fine Fabrics is now making a high end product that is custom in every way, yet only requires a 3-4 week turnaround. That’s means your project can be available and installed for summer entertaining.

Designers have chosen Fabricut, Vervain, Trend, Stroheim & S. Harris fabrics, trims and wallcoverings for their customers because of the beautifully detailed, quality products. Now Fabricut has created a program for us to offer you the same beauty, quality and high design that you have come to expect, but without the longer wait.

Choosing from any of the Fabricut line of fabrics, we offer custom cornices, tailored valances and roman shades; even cordless or motorized shades.

We’ve selected a few samples for the shop and are eager to share them with you. Stop by soon and let’s create something beautiful for your home!

Chrysalis Fine Fabrics is conveniently located at 1410 Market St. in Tallahassee’s Market District. With easy access off I-10 at Exit 203, you’ll discover the area’s largest selection of in-stock decorator fabrics and a talented staff eager to assist in creating the designs of your dreams. Quilting Your Fabric? yes, we do that!

Chrysalis Showroom is centrally located in Tallahassee’s Market District, just off I-10 at Exit 203. Because of our easy access, large selection of in-stock decorator fabrics and our extensive book room collection, we not only serve our local customers and interior designers, we’ve become a favorite design resource destination for customers from Jacksonville (east) and as far as Pensacola (west).

As custom home design continues to gain interest, resources are more easily accessible to consumers and are not viewed as just for the wealthy anymore. Clients turn to our talented in-store design team for assistance, and trust us to create the projects of their dreams. We produce custom fabrication of not only window treatments, but bedding, pillows and upholstery. Our workrooms are constantly humming to create the most beautiful and sought after designs today.

Chrysalis Fine Fabrics offers custom monograms for bedding, pillows and the occasional family heirloom upholstery. Custom headboards and quilted bedding are also coveted options.

For example, this colorful, vintage-look water lily fabric is charming right off the bolt as it can be easily paired with complimentary fabrics and trims – then used for draperies, pillows and even light upholstery. Kicking it up a notch, we sent this same fabric to a workroom for custom quilting. The result was a beautiful quilted coverlet, making it functional while enhancing the detail of each design element in the textile. Use with the stunning buffalo check headboard with nail-head trim, and you have the makings of a warm and inviting guest room – ready for holiday company.

From concept to creation, inspiration to installation – we do it all! We do custom!

Stop by – take a look – let’s chat about your next interior design project.

Our Top 10 Favorite Rugs

Nothing can tie a room together quite like the perfect rug. Here at Chrysalis, we’ve been carrying Dash & Albert rugs (among several others) for years! We thought it’d be fun to kick off the weekend with our top 10 favorites available to order from our store right now!

#10. The Aster Sage Wool Micro Hooked Rug – bright and cheery but content enough to blend in, it’s soft vaguely floral geometric pattern could mix well with a variety of decor styles.

#9. Sahara Hand Knotted Jute Rug – a nod to the exotic, but in classic blue and off-white, plus it feels so good underfoot!

#8. Hot House Winter Wool Micro Hooked Rug – what a riot of fun color! This rug offers a touch of whimsy to any room.

#7. Star Came & Ivory Indoor/Outdoor rug – I LOVE these stars! What a fun way to add some sparkle (sorry- I had to!) or Colonial-inspired flare to your room. This pattern is available in several colors too including classic red, blue and even pale pink! What a sweet addition to a nursery that would make, eh?

#6. Dry Brush Blue rug – The more abstract pattern in this rug is a refreshing take on that blue and white we love so much.  It would be enough to kick things up a notch in a traditional room.

#5. Taza Hand Knotted Jute rug – With a nod to Northern Morocco, this neutral patterned rug is luxe, beautiful and a conversation piece. I see it in a cozy bedroom filled with cream-colored linens and deep blue accents. Yes please!

#4. Gypsy Stripe Woven Cotton rug – fun colors, classic stripes! Simple and lovely!

#3. Falls Village Stripe Indoor/Outdoor rug – I personally have had several indoor/outdoor rugs by Dash & Albert and they are workhorses!  Easy to care for and clean, which is one of the only ways I could have a rug with so much white in it (house full of boys, what can I say?). This rug comes in a variety of colors too (the ochre is particularly pretty!), but this light blue just screams summer and the beach!

#2. Thyme Ticking Cotton rug – as the herb it is named after, this delightful green rug is bright, fresh and adds that little something extra!

#1. Cat’s Paw! This perennial favorite and it’s many color options can tie in a room of almost any decor style. I personally have the green, but the grey is stunning too! There are  four colors to choose from and all of them are gorgeous!

What do you think of our top 10 favorites? DO you have a favorite you’d like to share with us? Comment on our Facebook page, we’d love to know! Remember to check our website, give us a call or swing by Chrysalis to see all the beautiful options we have for you!

Creative Patriotic Touches

IMG_4859 3

Love this patriotic porch from Saavy Southern Style!

With this being an election year, Memorial Day this weekend and Independence Day just a month away, we are feeling the inspired and thought it’d be fun to share some cute ideas to bring some patriotic touches to your home!

Pillow inspirations from The Inspired Room.

Personally, changing pillows is the easiest and economical way to tie in new colors, patterns or themes. To add a patriotic touch, think ticking, thick stripes, classic stars (shapes or patterned), even polka dots to give the eye the overall feeling of a recreated flag. Here you can see some of our red, whites and blues at the shop.

A mix of patterns in red, white and blue give a less-literal take on the patriotic look while still looking stylish and contemporary!

And don’t forget to add buttons for a nice detail too!

Three of dozens of great accent buttons at the shop currently.

Great button detail from The Cottage at the Crossroads.

And hey! Why not frame Old Glory? The beautiful thing about our grand ole high-flying flag is not only the stirring and passionate hard-fought beliefs it represents, but it’s beautiful too!

Gorgeous framed flag inspiration from Life as a Thrifter.

Have any of these ideas inspired you? Come in to the shop to see all the different patterns we can mix and match for you to create this look for your home too!

Have a safe and reverent Memorial Day weekend, friends!

If that Plantation Lifestyle speaks to you – get ready to love this custom project!

It’s no wonder that many of our clients are from the surrounding tri-state area. Chrysalis Fine Fabrics is the largest in-stock decorator fabric showroom in N. Florida and S. Georgia. Since we’re in the heart of plantation country and those who enjoy the plantation lifestyle, our designer projects often include fine fabrics from Scalamandre, Lee Jofa, Roth & Tompkins to name a few.

Recently, Designer Krista Vickers had the privilege of working with such a client for both their Florida and Georgia homes. Here is just a sampling of the beautiful custom pillows that will enhance the warmth and feel of these welcoming estate homes.

ScalamandreEdwinsCovey Edwin’s Covey, from Scalamandre is a hand printed union cloth blend of 70% linen and 30% cotton. The color is Multi on Willow and the detail is exquisite, making it the perfect choice for the quail enthusiast.

LeeJofaMilleFleur Lee Jofa  Mille Fleur is a print of beige, green, burgundy/red of 100% linen. Besides the pillows, this customer chose two winged chairs in this same print. Gorgeous indeed!

It’s always a designer’s preogative to mix a small scale pattern with the larger prints to add color, texture and interest. This Hunt Club Houndstooth in Terra Cotta is one of Krista’s favorite cotton fabrics; and a perfect option from Roth and Tompkins.
